RAFT TRIPS ON THE SACRAMENTO RIVER
Redding to Anderson

Rent the finest quality rafts and equipment for a scenic float with gentle rapids down the Sacramento River between Redding and Anderson. We will meet you in Anderson and shuttle you and your gear back to your car at the conclusion of the trip. Parking, shuttle and all necessary equipment are included with the raft rental. Rafters 18 and under must have parents consent.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
All raft trips begin with a safety and navigation clinic. The clinic describes the water hazards on the river, how to avoid them, and general rafting technique. We highlight the important landmarks you need to know. Do you need extra help? Not a problem. Our professional staff will take as long as you need to get your raft crew up to speed and river ready.

GUIDED RIVER TOURS
Join us for a 2 hour guided trip on the scenic Sacramento River from Redding to Anderson. We do all the work and you enjoy the ride. See wildlife and waterfowl and discover this "Urban Wilderness" that is the heart of our city.

EVENING RAFTING TRIPS
This beautiful rafting experience is for those who enjoy the solitude of nature at a cooler time of day. The trip runs from the South Bonnyview to Anderson after 5:00 pm.

FISH ON
Our rafts provide excellent access to Redding’s "World Class" Rainbow trout fishery.

BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION CLOSURES AND UP-DATE
Redding is in the process of upgrading two bridges, Cypress Street and Highway 44. Due to construction, the upper river at Cypress Street is closed to all boat traffic during our rafting season. We have moved our operation from Turtle Bay to South Bonnyview Boat Ramp until the construction is complete sometime in 2009. We invite you to visit us at South Bonnyview and enjoy the rafting from South Redding to Anderson.

NORTH STREET BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION IN ANDERSON
The construction at North Street in Anderson has not affected boating and the river remains open. The boat passage is well marked and we believe it is safe. We recommend staying river left in the assigned passage and avoid the bridge pier, and always wear your lifejacket.

NEW CATARAFT FOR OVERNIGHT CAMPING TRIPS
Many rafters want to explore the river between Redding and Red Bluff. An overnight camping trip on the river is an awesome adventure and we have the perfect boat for this trip. Our cat comes fully equipped with rowing frame, 128 quart cooler and room for one passenger. Load on the camping gear and you're ready to go. This cataraft makes a great support boat for your canoe or kayak tour so invite some friends.

A RAFT TRIP DOWN THE SACRAMENTO RIVER
Rafting down the Sacramento River is one of the best activities Redding has to offer. After our check-in and safety & navigation clinic, you’re ready for a day on the river. Just upstream of our river access point, the South Bonnyview boat ramp, you can see the South Bonnyview Bridge. Each summer hundreds of Cliff Swallows use this bridge as a colonial breeding site. Once past the boat ramp the river forks. You can’t make a wrong turn, but we want rafters to go river left. This is the main stem of the river and you have more water to work with. As you float around the corner watch out for the stump that’s mid-stream. You don’t want to hit it. Now you’re leaving Redding and rafting south to Anderson. People love to see the beautiful homes along this leg of the trip. Continue down river and you’ll come to the islands. There are many beaches where you can pull out for a picnic, pick some blackberries or explore the backwaters and creeks. Back on the river; look for the Sierra Pacific lumber mill on river right. It’s easy to identify by the stacks of logs waiting to be milled. Ospreys have nested at the site for years, and if you’re lucky you might see one catch a fish. The next bridge is Interstate 5, an easy landmark. Next, you’ll see the North Street Bridge. There is construction on this bridge and the boat passage is well marked. Stay to river left in the assigned passage and avoid the bridge pier. Immediately past the North Street Bridge, get over to river right. Stay close to the shore and in ten minutes you will see the Anderson River Park. Look for a live tree that’s leaning out over the river with orange marking paint on the trunk. Paddle into the cove behind the tree. That’s the takeout. Our shuttle will take you back to Redding. Rafting is an ideal activity for family, friends, and business, social and church groups.
